Russell A. Ekanger, CPA, CGMA, MST - Consultant

Russell A. Ekanger founded the firm in 1990 on a part time basis, while working full time at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage (Freddie Mac). In 1994, Mr. Ekanger left Freddie Mac to pursue his practice on a full time basis. An experienced CPA, Russ has worked in the accounting industry for over 36 years advising clients in Accounting, Taxation, Business Development, Bookkeeping, Financial Consulting and Insurance. Russ has advanced expertise in working with businesses such as construction contractors of various types, including roofers, painters, custom home builders, as well medical professionals, government contractors, restauranteurs, Music & recording producers and general consultants.

Russ graduated from Frostburg State University in 1980 with a [Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Political Science, as well as a minor in Accounting. Russ obtained his Master of Science Degree in Taxation from South Eastern University in the Spring of 1996.  He is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Society of Tax Professionals, The Accountants Society of Virginia, National Association of Accountants and was a member on the Virginia Society of Certified Public Advisory Tax Panel.. In the community Russ has been an is active in [Vienna Little League Baseball both as a coach for 13 years and a Board Member for 7 years, a Travel baseball coach for the Vienna Mustangs Baseball Club for 2 years, a coach and Vice President of Travel Baseball For Greater Vienna Babe Ruth for seven years, winning three District Championships and one State Championship, Treasurer for the James Madison High School Boosters Club for three years, the founder and President of Vienna Youth Sports Club, Inc., from 2000 through 2016, a basketball and soccer coach for Vienna Youth Sports and Vienna Youth Soccer for five years and a member of the White Tail Ski Resorts Ski Safety Team for 2 years.

Russ has been married to his wife of 22 years, Ms. Deborah Reyher, and has two adult children, Rachel and Caelyn. When Russ isn’t busy at work or coaching, he and his wife love to travel, go to Rock and Roll concerts, snow ski, boat and jet ski and now Russ is umpiring youth and high school baseball.
